Jane’s Little Gardens
Anyone out and about in Franklin lately would have noticed the bursts of colour appearing round the main street. Pots of hot pink, deep purple and electric blue flowers adorning the windows and railings from one end of town to the other. They are the product of new local business Jane’s Little Gardens.
Franklin has an olde world charm suited to hanging baskets and doorstep flowerpots. Jane Atkinson operates a local gardening service and could see the potential to brighten up the business district. She approached local shopkeepers and outlined her vision to decorate shopfronts and give the town a cheerful lift.
Positive feedback led to the formation of new local business venture Jane’s Little Gardens.
Jane’s Little Gardens is dedicated to brightening up businesses and homes in Franklin and beyond.
“Many people like the idea of hanging baskets and flower tubs but find they do not have the time or the expertise to maintain them in the long term,’ says Jane. “So I decided to offer a hire service to make it easier for busy people.”
Those lucky enough to live in Franklin will be able to have customised hanging baskets, troughs or pots of flowers installed at their premises and maintained by Jane for a modest weekly charge. But for those not in Franklin, the news is not all bad. Jane’s Little Gardens will also be offered for sale.
“I’m experimenting with providing all-year-round containers, including winter flowering annuals, perrennials, spring bulbs, herbs and succulents, as well as the colourful summer annuals,” says Jane. “I’ll also renovate and revitalise old pots and hanging baskets that people may have lying around, for a one-off cost.”
Next season’s production is currently being planned so now is a good time to get in touch with Jane to discuss your ideas. She offers friendly, reliable and competent service and looks forward to helping people ensure their businesses are attractive and welcoming. Her wealth of local gardening knowledge means she can offer good advice about what will thrive.
